What suprises me is how we use our own language and its conceptual mapping to directly translate one item to its counterpart. Maybe the best way to perserve the words is to directly use the closest original pronunication to force the concept embed into another language. Just like 'Chow Fun' preserves the '河粉' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shahe_fen), '菩提索多' preserves 'Bodhisattva', and 'tao' preserves '道' . Thanks.
