Old Times There Are Not Forgotten

In Wednesday’s Times was a depressing article about the prevalence and persistence of racism and lowbrow religious fundamentalism in the American South. Combined with a proudly anti-intellectual ignorance, and the hair-trigger tradition of violence in the name of “honor” that is the legacy of herdsmen-descended cultures everywhere on Earth, it all makes for a grotesquely toxic brew. I do hope the Secret Service is getting lots of rest.

  2. ignorance can be addressed and its foundations shaken to dust…but that will take a lot of work – Keep faith in reason and hope to have reasons for faith is a credo that works for me
