Service Notice

I’ve received two emails today from readers living in Asia, both telling me that they had received the error “HTTP Error 403 – Forbidden” when trying to access this website. One thought that I had intentionally blocked him from visiting the site, something I would be very unlikely to do.

I don’t know what the problem is. My server at Bluehost is equipped with an IP blocker, but it isn’t blocking anything. The IPs listed in my logs as having received the error are from a single IP range, 122.154.100.xxx, which is assigned to the Asia Pacific registry.

Anyway, to anyone who might have had the problem, and has managed to get back here later on, I do apologize. I have, so far, no idea what’s going on.

  1. Well, I’m home now, Malcolm, and I have no problem accessing your blog, so the blockage does not blanket all of South Korea.

Hmmm… I wonder if Big Brother is involved here — and if so, just whose Big Brother it might be.
