Readers, if this doesn’t get a rise out of you, I don’t know what will:

  1. Time to grab a bunch of eggs and go visit the neighbor who complained about the poles to begin with.

As usual, when a mere citizen asks for reasons, the response from those in power is threats — and lies.

  3. This is not a federal case. It’s also not junior high-school. It’s a municipal/state issue.

Time to call a lawyer, not to throw eggs.

I thought that was a Saturday Night Live skit until about halfway.

I think that guy could make money on that video in a jury trial civil lawsuit.

    This occurred in Delaware?

Is that not where Vice Prez Biden hails from?

The guy complaining about the removal of the pole has to use a cane? Clearly a disability and the guy did sound like an American citizen – his wife looked pretty familiar with a pole [which leads me to wonder if all the proper questions had been asked prior to the arrival of the front-end loader that jerked the pole outta the hole] – appears to me a clear violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act.

I’m thinking this cannot be a coincidence, the City Father’s had to know our first basketball playing President is occupied with NATO and Libya – Biden’s steering our Ship of State, and Hillary’s in the UK.

And the City Fathers chose now to act?!!!

Man oh man Malcolm, you were right!

Now’s the time for me to “Rise up” (and go get my first beer in three days) so’s I can write about this blatant Right-Wing Conspiracy to… to…

Well, I’ll figure out what to do after I’ve had a six-pack. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

  6. Ah, TheBigHenry, you’re far more civilized than I am. I prefer direct, primitive action. Street justice! When they bring out their eggs in response to our eggs, we bring out the crowbars, and so on.

On a more serious note, what assurances do we have that the law would be on the side of the married couple in the video? Wasn’t it “the law” that we witnessed in action while those poles were being uprooted? Can’t say I’m too hopeful.

  7. Seriously, Kevin? The law is not supposed to be on anyone’s side. Lady Justice is blindfolded.

As John Adams wrote in Thoughts on Government:

There is no good government but what is republican. That the only valuable part of the British constitution is so; because the very definition of a republic is ‘an empire of laws, and not of men.

  8. Lady Justice is blindfolded.

I agree that that’s how it should be. But is that what we saw in the video?

  9. Legal disputes are resolved in a court of law.

What you saw in the video was the establishment of a legal dispute.
