Ahem…

My birthday’s just gone by, on April 13th — but in case you’re wondering what to get me next year…

  2. A belated happy birthday to you, sir.

I just Googled “Malcolm Pollack” and got this image as one of the top search results. What the hell?

In the meantime, a birthday haiku:

    nature measures age
not by clock or orbit arcs
    but by scrotal droop

Cheers, Malcolm, from us 40-somethings to you 50-somethings.

You will be wanting the “E-Series”?

(Crap – I forgot what I was gonna add. Best keep an eye on my problem Malcolm, you’re just 23 days behind me.)

I think there is a design flaw there. You wouldn’t want that propeller that close to your face, sitting downstream, without a windshield. Yes, goggles are nice but the prop will make your skin get all stretched out. The velocity of air on backside of the prop will be MANY times that of your airspeed. It will hurt to sit where that guy is sitting and it will not be comfortable (not even tolerable, I’d guess!) Maybe they figured out a way to create a null spot or something clever. Most ultralight aircraft have a windshield or put the prop facing the other way, behind the driver.

  5. I just read your normblog profile and was pleased to note a number of similarities in our respective responses:

    The normblog profile 232: TheBigHenry

The normblog profile 332: Malcolm Pollack

    Many happy returns, Mal.

    Thank you all!

Peter: Splendid. You have my address.

Kevin: A haiku! It’s just beautiful. Thanks so much. (I’m sorry to say that modesty forbids my explaining that search result.)

JK: The E-Series looks very nice. Thank you!

chris: They must have thought of this. But you raise a good point.

Henry: I’ll have a look. Thanks for the birthday greeting.
