Best line in a litany of stupidity: In regards to banning plastic bags. “I do checkout, you know, so that’s why I’m speaking. I’m right on the firing line, you know?”

    Beyond satire.

I’ve lived in Park Slope for 30 years, and never set foot in the place. Never felt like I’d quite fit in, somehow.

I love Park Slope and definitely feel privileged to have spent as much time there as I have but sometimes its inhabitants are beyond comprehension.

The now defunct show “Bored To Death” had a little bit in one of there shows about a pot-smoking Co-op member (i guess that might be a bit redundant). They were spot on with the character.

The Food Co-Op is a throwback to Park Slope’s red-diaper era; it was already well-established when I moved here in 1982.

The admixture of the current wave of self-absorbed affluent liberals has taken the scene here to a whole new level, though. Sitcom material, if you ask me.
