Weakness?

Here’s another good article about Putin’s play in the Ukraine (or just “Ukraine”; I can’t keep track).

    It’s always “Ukraine“. As it was explained to me some time ago, “Ukraine” has an implied article, so saying “the Ukraine” is like saying “the the United States”.

    Well, that may be, but I’m old enough to remember when it was “the Ukraine”, “the Sudan”, “the Congo”, and even “the Argentine”. (It’s still, officially, “the Gambia”, FYI.)

    These things change.
