Sky Still Not Falling

Here’s a roundup of recent climate science from the Cato Institute.

(One quibble: although the article correctly notes that there has been no “major hurricane” strike on the U.S. mainland since 2005, I think it might at least have mentioned Hurricane Sandy. Although Sandy was not officially a hurricane when it made landfall in New Jersey, it was enormously destructive nevertheless.)

In the southern hemisphere we call them cyclones and we lived through a category two “event” recently. I believe that this is very unusual weather for this part of Australia, at least according to the men who are on the roof right now, removing a massive tree that crashed down onto the house just over a week ago.

These fellows and their research have done injury to the “New Religion” and its prophets and financiers. All hell will descend on them. I believe there are legions of “Jonathan Grubers” behind the climate scare just waiting for their paydays. They have ready to go solutions for any scenario.

Until climate change became the issue, we were frequently told here on the East coast of the US that winter nor’easters did more constant long term damage to the shoreline and to property than hurricanes. Nor’easters it seems tend not to drive as much media coverage and therefore not as politically useful to the “religion”.
