America’s Jacobins: Feeling Their Avoine

Recently a commenter scoffed at suggestions that, given the sudden anathematization of all things Confederate, statues honoring Confederate heroes might soon be removed. Fast forward a week, and we’re already moving past anything so tame as that — to the actual disinterment of the dead.

No announcement yet as to which lamp-post will display the remains.

Burke:

Rage and frenzy will pull down more in half an hour than prudence, deliberation, and foresight can build up in a hundred years. The errors and defects of old establishments are visible and palpable. It calls for little ability to point them out; and where absolute power is given, it requires but a word wholly to abolish the vice and the establishment together. The same lazy, but restless disposition, which loves sloth and hates quiet, directs these politicians, when they come to work for supplying the place of what they have destroyed. To make everything the reverse of what they have seen is quite as easy as to destroy. No difficulties occur in what has never been tried. Criticism is almost baffled in discovering the defects of what has not existed; and eager enthusiasm and cheating hope have all the wide field of imagination, in which they may expatiate with little or no opposition.

Also:

It is impossible not to observe, that … these pretended citizens treat France exactly like a country of conquest. Acting as conquerors, they have imitated the policy of the harshest of that harsh race. The policy of such barbarous victors, who contemn a subdued people, and insult their feelings, has ever been, as much as in them lay, to destroy all vestiges of the ancient country, in religion, in polity, in laws, and in manners; to confound all territorial limits; to produce a general poverty; to put up their properties to auction; to crush their princes, nobles, and pontiffs; to lay low everything which had lifted its head above the level, or which could serve to combine or rally, in their distresses, the disbanded people, under the standard of old opinion.

Reflections on the Revolution In France, 1790

We note that Edmund Burke, who died in 1797, asked that his own body be buried secretly, lest his corpse be desecrated should the Jacobins come to power in England.

Hardly anyone admits nowadays to War Being A Young Man’s Proving … which and especially concerning the American Civil War .. note that *Civil War .. as if any such war fought between fellows on the same ground were Consecrated and Dedicated as it were, on the the same battlefield – very well on one side of the family table been, as imagined July 2015 .. All and Everyone Agreeing On Principle; Those damn Southerners were each and everyone – simply as is presented nowadays, Ignorant Racist White People.

And it’s actually far nowadays extended past just “Southern Whiteys” to All Whiteys (which article I reading … gobsmacked me – likely wets One-Eyed-Moon-Glampers underdrawers … I’m figuring only a fellow such as One Eyed Moon Glampers will get an orgasm – or millipedes of – outta such news:

That was so Enjoyable even Kevin Kim I’m certain agrees maybe he’ll no longer *reject out of hand* but how much can one JK expect combining a yada and a blah, yadablahyadablah … just ’cause Kevin’s somewhat Asian and was raised, pretty much, in LeeLand don’t mean much to me I don’t give a f#¢k anyway. But that’s just me.

Kevin, as he desires, can “moderate as he might” but the thing is … and/but every/nobody agrees, it’s Free Speech so, on that I agree it being fine to get edited out.

Primary point being – War is one thing, the on-the-ground-combatants is not. “War is Rich People’s Enterprise *But Something Else Altogether* Except If One is in Enterprise.”

War — especially I’d submit – sometime after the fact .. is more difficult to understand the “closer” it is.

The true purpose of the Obama presidency…pay back for the unruly ignorant mob. Everything else is a distraction. While he has time, he intends to destroy as much of America as he can. When he is out, the mob will still be unruly and ignorant. They are very useful in this way. Let them have their way for a while, the Nation will tire of them soon enough.

  3. Stella Morabito wrote a piece at The Federalist last month on “mass delusion” which explains the process (http://thefederalist.com/2015/06/08/how-to-escape-the-age-of-mass-delusion/) The propaganda effort moves at warp speed these days, because during the Bush years the far-left prepared for this and during Obama’s first term the groundwork paid off, allowing them to move ahead with the more overt measures in their “fundamental transformation”, of which inciting racial flashpoints serve as smokescreens to rewriting the laws, transferring power to nameless executive branch hacks to regulate (laws without Congressional oversight) and use the media to brainwash the public that all this is in the name of “fairness and equality”. It’s all a big propaganda war.

The Confederate flag flap flared up on cue, because it was not a spontaneous reaction to a heinous crime by a white supremacist nutcase, but because there were agitators of this “race war” on the watch for local news stories to rush in and exploit. It’s all stage-managed and directed from closely aligned radical leaders in the black activist community, progressives like Soros and this White House.

Then they use polls to groom public opinion, by insisting “most Americans” believe whatever the latest delusion is that they’ve sold, relegating the fringe minority as “haters” or “kooks”. Of course, the clueless nincompoops in that majority have no idea that they’ve been manipulated by a savvy mass media propaganda campaign, so they march obediently and blindly toward the cliff.

JK, not exactly a model of pith, clarity and sobriety there. Please try.

  6. Americans are being groomed by mass media propaganda campaigns being waged effectively by the far-left political stalwarts in academia and think-tanks. The Sunstein “nudges” have progressed to pushing and ramming the agenda down the throats of Americans – comply or prepare to be be publicly vilified and have your livelihood destroyed. Private citizens who post messages on social media have been viciously attacked and brought to heel, not just public figures. It is a well-orchestrated propaganda campain.

I’ve been communicating with my Congress Critters back and forth, their “surprise” at the defense cuts and the resulting pith and clarity rubbed off on me.

The bottled water I got in the mail had the zipcode 20510 on the mailing label – don’t know it was fresh. Smells funny today. Kinda like a mixture of Agent Orange and napalm.
