On The Hustings

Just watched some of the GOP debate. Best moment of the evening: George Will quoted on Twitter as calling John Kasich “a Roman candle of undiagrammable sentences.”

Carly Fiorina did well tonight, except I think she wants to start World War III. (Rand Paul noticed that too.) Jeb Bush, who really should, at this point, be thinking about what else he might do with his autumn years, praised “moderate Islamists” and an “explosion of natural gas”. Marco Rubio sweats a lot, and seems to make nothing but prepared statements. (Is he really going to be 35 by November 2016?)

Donald Trump and Ben Carson are still whatever it is they are. (Donald Trump even more so, if that was possible.)

The moderators were pretty good, I thought.

Only a year of this to go!

  1. This is a tad off topic, but in some article last week (can’t remember the title) I came across this book, “Catastrophic Failure: Blindfolding American in the Face of Jihad” by Stephen Coughlin, who was the JCS’s foremost expert on Islam and Jihad. Your mention of Jeb with his “moderate Islamists” prompted my mentioning this book – started it, haven’t finished, but Coughlin shreds the “moderate” myth in the first chapter. He was the expert, whom the Obama administration got rid of immediately:

Coughlin reminds me of an interview I saw of Turkish PM Erdogan about a year ago. A reporter asked him about “moderate Islam”. He said that was offensive and that there is “only Islam”. He offered no qualifiers.

It seems that not only have difficult experts been dismissed by Obama, but mid level and higher military officers have been “retired” by him as well. Meaning those who might be perceived as less accommodating to PC indoctrination within the ranks for the purpose of weakening our military.

It seems our government under the Constitution is being overthrown from within. Maybe a “silent coup”?

What Donald Trump is is our next president.
