Strange Attractor

I’m puzzled by something. About three years ago I wrote a brief post that linked to an online essay by computer scientist Jaron Lanier about the shortcomings of collaborative projects like Wikipedia. For some reason, since last November the post has attracted a steady stream of visitors (several an hour), from scattered locations. There are no referring sites listed, and a Google link: search has turned up nobody linking to the page. There’s nothing special about the post, really; all it does is recommend that readers go have a look at Mr. Lanier’s essay.

I think the whole thing is very odd, and I do wish I had some explanation for it. If you are reading this and are one of the mystery visitors, I’d be most grateful if you could leave a comment, or send me an email.
