That is depressing. In NY, I paid $770/month for my family of 3. I searched high and low and that was the best deal I could get. It hurt me to write those checks because we infrequently went to the damn doctor. I never went. Tell me now where I’m going to die and I won’t go there.
After we moved to Hawaii we got even better health coverage for a mere $450.
When we moved to California, we got an HSA account and a high deductible health insurance plan. I now pay $194/month. I have an HSA account to which I contribute (and I get a nice tax deduction). For the first time in my life I actually LOVE our health insurance plan.
I know which plan I liked best. I think I know what plan is going to be forced on me now.
