A New Battle For Christopher Hitchens

I am startled, and terribly sorry, to hear that Christopher Hitchens appears to have esophageal cancer. Story here.

Well maybe not – speakers up. Of course I recognize this’s made it to Google – but I’m searching my archives.

    Chris’ll like his.

I am sorry to hear this, and just hope the cancer was detected very, very early. Esophogeal cancer is nasty, and prone to metastases. One thing we can be sure of, Hitchens isn’t banking on a miraculous cure…

I shouldn’t have written that. But it is ironic that the guy who talks bad about God gets a form of mouth cancer.

A lot of people become religious when something bad happens to them. I wonder if this will turn him to God? Wouldn’t that be something.

I’m afraid irony is lost on me, since most of the people who develop esophageal (and other) cancers are believers.

How sad! He so brilliantly expresses his viewpoints.
Also, how illogical to think that some being somewhere looked down and struck this person with a cancer lightning bolt.

illogical? God has been using fear of plagues to keep us heathens in line since day 1.
