Pot & Kettle

Or perhaps a better title would have been Sauce For The Gander.

Here.

Malcolm, I’ve wasted the better part of 50 cents unsuccessfully trying to locate that case on PACER, despite supposedly having the case number of Civil 11-1503. It seems open to question that a case only filed some time in 2011 would have already progressed to the point of a motion for summary judgment or something else requiring 40-page briefs. Using “Perryman” I did find two earlier Western District of Washington cases against the Democratic Party, both terminating unsuccessfully for Perryman several years ago.

I doubt these links will work for you, though.

I think you are coming in increasing need of something like Snopes, as your critical apparatus is suffering, though I do wonder whether that article somehow knows something I couldn’t find. One could research Perryman on the web, but based on two cases against more or less the same entity, the Democratic Party, filed successively in 2004 and 2005, he looks likely to be a mere local vexatious litigant, and that whole article you posted then begins to look like craziness.

I doubt that Snopes has had time to get on this yet. (I do use Snopes all the time to check odd stories that come my way, but I didn’t vet this story before posting it — the fact that there was an actual case number listed made me, perhaps, more confident than I should have been that there actually was such a case.)

The filing is only two days old; maybe it takes more time than that for it to be posted on the resources you’ve been checking.

If it does turn out to be phony, of course I’ll make that clear here.

I’ll bet my next paycheck, meager as it is, that this is crankishness and will go nowhere.
