Kinda figured this’d come in handy but I didn’t foresee using it on Waka. My plan (such as it was) was to use the link to explain how we [the US] could retaliate for those computer chips going into our military hardware.
The guys in your link got a pretty good thing in theory, but unforeseen consequences er, can cut in many ways I think. Last thing they should wanna do is spark off a trade war.

Dis not de boner I had in mind …
Compliments on er improvin’ “Hillbillyese” TBH. T’warnt astonished der folks et Rosetta Stone’d tallied erp dere produck line.
Er, dis were de “boner” yer markin ern?
I hope the inventor got a nice pile of cash for his invention. Between a big boner and a big bonus, I’m guessing that his wife knows how to blow a big bonus.
Thanx, JK (I think?) …
Not sure I’m qualified for “improvin’ Hillbilly-ese”, however. The only Hillbilly-ese I’m familiar with is the expression, “If t’watnt for bad luck, we’d have no luck at all.”
Well TBH, here’s another to add to your lexicon. Used it once in an email and was surprised to find it weren’t as well known as I’d thought.
Shittin’ in tall cotton.
Yup; I’ll probably have lots of opportunities to use that one, JK …
Takin’ from the above linked exemplars of our society TBH, I’d say (for them) seems apropo.
According to Urban Dictionary, Shittin’ in Tall Cotton means: the act of coming into a large sum of unexpected money.
I am now officially (and totally) confused. Tall cotton = quality toilet paper? You hillbillies are way to mysterious for my kind of folk …
Situation normal …
“too”, not “to”
[I know the grammar Nazi is watching!]
The Urban Dictionary very apparently didn’t consult actual hillbillys TBH. The expression is put into use in situations ranging from finding an abandoned dime lying in a pile of gravel (especially if the dime is heads up) to finding oneself in a fortuitous circumstance.
Hooking up with a woman having a full set of dentures can, provided she’s willing to share, put the phrase into proper usage.
Thanx for sharing, JK.
:)
“Grammar Nazi”?
The resident gadfly, who thinks that spotting what amounts to a slip of the keyboard is evidence of a superior intellect.
