By now, I imagine, you are all familiar with the smug, epicene Eloi putz that the Obamacare P.R. machine recently chose to promote their product. He has entered the popular culture as “Pajama Boy”, and to an awful lot of people he has become an icon of American decadence and enfeeblement: a vain and useless girly-man, wearing infant’s clothing, nuzzling at the federal bosom for his most basic needs, and too weak even to lift his mug of chocolate with one hand.

If by some chance you haven’t seen him — you’ve just been released from solitary confinement, perhaps, or the bandages have just come off after your bilateral cornea transplant — here he is:

I find his image deeply disturbing: not only because it makes plain the accelerating infantilization and effeminization of Western culture, and the death of the virile self-sufficiency that once made America a mighty nation and the envy of the world, but also because it reveals the dangerous extent to which our ruling elites have learned to despise and reject the capable and hard-working people who, by the sweat of their brow and the skill of their hands, sustain their existence. To say that there are “two Americas”, as we’ve heard so often lately, misses the mark: I’d say, rather, that there is still just America — but attached to the base of its skull is this pale and parasitic thing, with its hyphae extending deep into our veins and central nervous system.
