A stunning speech that I had completely forgotten. I had to read it twice. Maybe it takes a writer of screen plays to do the hard work of digging for all of history’s meanings. We have at work today, people who are “virtuous culture cleansers” by their own assignment. If they are very successful in their Taliban like destruction, they will have no limits once they taste the blood of their misplaced wrath. The consequence of erasing history only allows the perpetrators the opportunity to repeat it unmolested.
