Cusp

In a comment to a recent post, I expressed a dark sentiment that is as close as any sympathetic and historically literate observer of this late stage of Western civilization can realistically come to “hope”: namely that when the pathogen now ravaging our culture has assaulted enough of its tissues and vital organs, it will at last provoke a powerful immune reaction.

Surveying the news tonight, I think that moment may now be approaching.

  2. One can only wonder what ordinary Germans are talking about today.

And I wish she would listen to her grumpy old man when he warns her about the true state of the world, and the lessons of history, and the realities of human nature.

Libertybelle, what about the ordinary French? A huge violation by savages on innocents, and someone will pay. Sooner rather than later, so that there is a line in the sand.

  6. I know Musey, but the Germans with the Merkel policy must assuredly be having some anxious ponderings.

President Obama’s policies leave me wondering and we already know his lines in the sand serve as merely rhetorical flourishes.

Libertybelle, I feel bit of fondness for you, a woman treading this hallowed ground. Let’s stick together!

But I do hate these people who are hideously evil, and at this point, I’m not able to say anything more except maybe, goodnight and god bless to all those taken away from us

It’s a bit emotional for me because I know people there, and I am so worried for them, but the odds are unlikely that they would be caught up in the zone..

    Vive La France.

Malcolm, normally I would envy your daughter but circumstances are changing. Do you know if she has ever visited the city of Graz? I attended college there long ago and have a special fondness for that region. The city is very close to Hungary as well as Slovenia. The maps I see of the migrant routes flow right to Graz.

I know you encourage her to be vigilant and aware. She will be.

I fervently hope you are right Malcolm. I am reminded, however, of Neville Chamberlain’s premature chicken count, “Peace For Our Time”.

The Left would rather go down in the flames than admit any wrongdoing.
