Cutting Them Off at the Pass

We haven’t said much about the situation in Europe lately, but with warmer weather coming, “migrant” flows will increase, and the social and political climate is going to heat up as well.

Already, as we see here, the Schengen idea is becoming unsupportable.

I will be in Vienna in July. I wonder what things will be like by then. (Forgive the lack of any sort of analysis, but I haven’t been doing my homework on this lately. That will change. My daughter now lives in Vienna, and I feel that for the past few months I have neglected my paternal obligation to focus the Eye of Waka on the deteriorating situation in Europe.)

Since the New Year’s eve mass groping and rape of women in Cologne, Germany, I have watched Europe more closely. Doing so has only made me angry, so I do less now. I don’t know which angers me more- the suicidal paralysis that decades of Leftism has brought upon the population or the politicians willing to ignore reality and act like things will be well if only no “right wing” opposition forms.

Europe is likely a lost cause, given immigration rates and trends in TFR in Germany as well as other white countries. These people aren’t spending their grandchildrens’ inheritance — they’re mostly not having grandchildren. Compare this to the US, where the Boomers are merely borrowing from theirs.

The time to go to Europe is now, it’ll probably not exist in 20 years.

Good luck on your trip to Europe; as my gran used to say to family before they went out during the Troubles: don’t get blown up.
