You Can’t Have Everything

Here’s the gay political gadfly Milo Yiannopolous on the Orlando atrocity (my emphasis):

“I’m not talking about Islamists. I’m not talking about terrorists. I’m not talking about radical Islam. I’m talking about mainstream Muslim culture. There are eleven Muslim countries in which I could be killed for being a homosexual. The state penalty is death. One hundred million people live in countries where the penalty for homosexuality is death. This is not radical Islam. This is mainstream Muslim society. Look what’s happening in Sweden. Look what’s happening anywhere in Germany, anywhere there are large influxes of a Muslim population. Things don’t end well for women and gays. The left has got to make a decision. Either they want female emancipation and it wants gay rights or it wants Islam. It’s got to pick.

This aired on a local CBS station. Good to see.

Also, the hornets are buzzing again for “gun control”. Here and here and here are some responses. (Just for the sake of balance, you understand.)

  1. And the Left’s response will be? Something along these lines, “Oh well, if we must, we choose to pick our noses.”

    The left will pick Islam over gays and women. This is because the left was never *for* gays and women, it was for anti-white Christian civilization, and it used gays and women as a bludgeoning tool against it. With gay marriage checked off and women equality basically met, it’s harder to use these particular groups, and so the left must go toward more extreme tools (Islam) in order to bludgeon it further. Anything that goes toward tearing down white Christian civilization further will be picked by the left. At the heart of leftism is a void, designed to push against Western civilization on its neverending quest for social status (against other leftists) and power.

    If you havn’t read Ship of Fools by Ted Kaczynski (yes, the Unabomber), I think it’s well worth a read. You won’t find it as offensive as the cartoon strip and it’s quite readable :)

    You can’t just talk about “women and gays” as though they are one and the same. Women are half the population. Women are grandmothers, mothers, daughters, sisters, aunties, nieces. Everyone has women they know and love and in many cases depend on. Neither are women completely helpless or dependent upon men for their safety. If Islamic custom was to take a hold in the west, men’s lives would also be profoundly changed. You would be praying to Allah, down on your knees every few hours facing Mecca.. forget your whiskey and your beer, and some other more dubious pleasures.

    We’re a long way from that.

    Gay people are a minority. Not everyone has sympathy or understanding and many are still feeling insecure and unhappy because they do meet prejudice in their everyday lives.

    Islam is not going to take over the west because if it does, it will not end well for anybody. That includes your sons and your daughters. The downside is pretty inclusive and even you Malcolm, will not be able to have everything.

    This “pick” is a silly construct. It is not a binary choice.

    Gun control is another issue but there is no doubt that this man Omar, shouldn’t have been able to bet his hands on such a weapon. I truly do not understand why any civilian could justify needing one.

    Musey.

    I watched this evening on Charlie Rose a former (retired?) FBI lady/female describe the Orlando shooter’s gun as a

    “Weapon of Mass Destruction.”

    You see where this sort of bullshit proposition ends don’t you Musey?

    Milo is quite something and an asset to boot. He seems particularly effective on college campuses. Islam doesn’t have to take over the West. They wait for Leftists to bring about the surrender of the West and the goal is accomplished. The Left is ever so easily groomed and will be dutiful servants of Sharia demands. The Left needs to make a choice but as Charles Krauthammer pointed out last night, Islam is also in an intra- civilization conflict.

    JK, they keep massaging the language to eventually distract the public in order to get what they want…gun control. Tragedies like Orlando are just what the Left needs to catch the public at a vulnerable moment. Gun control is not the answer. Criminal control and liberal control are closer to the truth.

    Musey, your argument is essentially an argument against generalization. Nowhere in my statement did I say “all women” or “all homosexuals”. Of course there are female Muslims, even some gay Muslims, and there are plenty of female homosexuals. When I say “the left will pick Islam over gays and women”, there are beliefs inherent in Islamic ideology (women should wear the hajib or niqab, wife beating is acceptable, 4 male witnesses necessary to report a rape, killing gays by throwing them from high buildings, the list goes on and on) that are directly incomparable with female and homosexual equality. The ideology is not monolithic but is easily prevalent about to generalize on. Not every Muslim subscribes to these inherent Islamic beliefs, but plenty of them do, and these beliefs usually increase with second generations.

    For example, Homosexuality is banned in over a dozen Islamic countries and poll after poll shows deep antipathy toward gay people throughout the Islamic world. See this recent poll: 52% of British Muslims in poll think homosexuality should be illegal. http://www.cnn.com/2016/04/11/europe/britain-muslims-survey/

    How’s that for integration of Muslims in the UK?

    Basically, liberals are now being forced to choose between supporting Islam (through increased immigration, anti-Islamophobia laws, etc) and supporting equality for women and homosexuals. It’s a black or white choice with no middle ground.

  9. banning homosexuality doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot of homosexuality in these Islamic countries. often it’s pedophilia and the govt. turns a blind eye to it

    I think that those on the right are doing a very fine job of putting their message out there. The fear of Islam is growing in western societies.

    Whitewall, you are a great propagandist.The left has some fierce opposition in the face of people who hold your views. And you’re gaining ground. So take heart.

    In Britain a vote for Brexit, once unthinkable, is now a distinct possibility. Why? Because it has turned into an anti immigration vote. By that, it’s largely and anti Muslim sentiment that has it’s grip on ordinary people. Nobody minds the hard-working Poles who do such good menial work diligently, and with smiling faces.

    The EU has never been popular in Britain. It is a huge bureaucracy and isn’t held to account for how it wields its power, which is enormous but still perversely petty. Still, Britain is not the power that it was, and post war Britain was a basket case at the same time as Germany was becoming a powerhouse. People have forgotten that. But they don’t care about any economic fallout because they just want to stop the migrants.

    We have to find the middle ground for the good of all. To recognize that radical Islam is a scourge that we should not pander to, to accept that we fail the weakest in the Muslim communities as well, when we let the imams demand that their customs should be respected. No, we should not listen to their demands for segregation of the sexes, designated areas on university campuses, the right to enact their Sharia law in our countries. By not doing so, we are protecting their gays, their women as well as our own.

    Muslims have an ideology which in its extreme form is pure bigotry.They are the villains and the victims and we should have the sense to come down on the right side. The “right” is gaining traction, as evidenced by the Brexit situation (We don’t have long to wait to find out)in the UK, and the Trump ascendancy in your country. It’s a heavy price to pay for inaction and extreme tolerance that has gone on for too long but I think it’s inevitable, because we’ve dithered around for so long now that the people are enraged and need to have their day of reckoning..

    BTW, a Muslim cleric who was visiting in order to give a series of talks to the faithful was deported from Australia, yesterday. He had previously recommended that gay people should be “got rid of”. Something good may yet come out of the Orlando massacre. Maybe it already has, because I’m sure that if that atrocity hadn’t happened he would still be here spreading the word.

    I was tempted Musey to, sentence by sentence paste almost each and every of your above [posted at 2:13 am] and then, pretty much post the question after each;

    Musey, Where do you buy your smoking dope?

    (But I was afraid *others* might think I was one of either; seriously serious or, seriously … oh … maybe Transabably-Challenged or somesuch as I’d been forced to come up with more stupid than;

    In Britain a vote for Brexit, once unthinkable, is now a distinct possibility. Why?

    The EU has never been popular in Britain.

    Which, purely circumstantially and, totally unplanned and, altogether coincidentally I happen to be suffering a toothache for which – were I stopped by a cop and … by “a likewise logic” … been pulled into interrogation I’d admitted the possibility my girlfriend substituted my antibiotic with LSD.

    Of course I’d found almost immediately I was suspect after the sure to be asked, “What was the motive?” and me just limited to the obvious;

    “To inherit my fortune!” I’m pretty sure Musey you even, woulda understood why what happened next happened.

    But.

    I’m thinking Musey even you’d not dare suggest what was previously unthinkable had anything whatsoever to my being [or not] popular?
