Everywhere around us, “progressivism” is getting more and more frantic. The latest round of freshmen elected to Congress, the delirious fantasies now put forward as actual policy proposals by legislators and presidential candidates, and the hysteria that has overwhelmed higher education may, quite understandably, strike your heart cold with fear. What can be done? we ask ourselves. What can we do to stop them?
Remember this: in the long run, we don’t have to do anything, because they have aligned themselves against reality itself. None of what they are proposing can ever work; none of what they are imagining can ever come true. They will fail, simply because it is not in the nature of reality that they can succeed.
Yes, we may of course have to defend ourselves at some point, and we should be ready.
But they will fail.

The fact that they will lose, doesn’t necessarily mean we will win. It’s entirely possible the left will continue wrecking things until we’ve all lost.
Excellent summary of current circumstances. We can confront the Left along the way, which we should, as this is what drives them to derision. Thus they reveal themselves even more. The Left does continue to wreck as that is their nature and won’t change. In doing so, the left turns inward in search of anyone not “ideologically pure”. Not fully “woke” is the current term.
In so many other nations over the last few generations, the Left has controlled the military thus they have full control over their populations if needed. Not so here.
The Left are like poor golfers who disrupt the capable players just ahead of them. Sometimes the poor golfers just need to be allowed to play through into the woods…metaphorically.
The Human Extinction Movement, got up today, brushed it’s teeth, looked in the mirror, and thought, who can we genocide today?

It’s true. But I agree with Behind Enemy Lines. They can keep on failing for as long as we exist. We are the raw material and competence and sanity that makes them fail rather than just die off. And when they just fail, for the millionth time, they chalk it up to something (anything) other than the falsity of their principles. “Socialism never really been tried.” “Right wing bigots stopped us.” So failure just ensures more failure until THEY are gone or WE are gone. And their failures can inflict a lot of pain and destruction between now and then.
The left doesn’t believe it is bringing about collapse. It is, in its mind, fighting injustice. Reality has no place in their world.
What happens depends on how, and in what broader context, they fail. In a living organism, a pathogen ultimately fails when it awakens an immune response. This is not a conscious process on the part of the host, but is how nature has equipped the organism to restore dynamic equilibrium.
