   Jeffery, you did read that one end was ‘pointy’? And the object was found along the shoreline?

   Obviously, the user would’ve caught a fish, stuck the pointy end through said fish and (depending of course on the species of fish) allowed the death throes of the fish to quiver the instrument.

   Really now, you’ve got a PhD. Put it to work.
