A friend and former magazine editor contacted me recently to ask my help in finding a designer for a freelance project she’s doing: a new magazine for a branch of our armed services. The person she thought best qualified for the job, a former colleague, turned down the work because of the moral distastefulness of working for the military (as if this person didn’t owe his own taken-for-granted freedom, safety, and prosperity to the protective vigilance and incomparable prowess of our armed forces).
Anyway, before I start ranting, I’ll just pass the request along to our readers: anyone know an experienced magazine designer (logo, masthead, etc.)? If so, send an email to the address listed in our “About Me” page, at top right.
