Do you have asthma? Do you depend on an over-the-counter inhaler to cope with it? Well, you may want to stock up. (You can keep them in the basement, next to your hoard of incandescent bulbs.)

Solely concerning the albuterol inhalers (actually I use two in addition – excluding the one in the article – chem exposure, COPD) anyway, “about” four years ago I was in the habit of, when I’d stockpiled a surplus, taking a few to a pharmacist to donate to the less fortunate.
Four years ago the pharmacist advised, “JK you might want to hold on to these, they’re about to become rare as hen’s teeth.” These were of the type with the aerosol mentioned.
I suppose the good news is, there’s been a “new” albuterol inhaler developed since. Admittedly the propellant isn’t particularly incandescent.
Whether the new one I signed up for the drug-testing of is widely available… I dunno. My guess is it’s passed the drug trials.
