By now you’ve probably seen the Obama campaign’s video featuring Girls star Lena Dunham. It’s a pitch to female first-time voters, and the conceit of the video is to liken a girl’s first voting experience to her first sexual experience. “Your first time shouldn’t be with just anybody,” the tattooed Ms. Dunham explains. “You want to do it with a great guy.”
Conservatives think this is just unspeakably creepy, for all the obvious reasons (and there are many, including that this is actually an imitation of a campaign video by Vladimir Putin), but liberals think it’s just funny and clever, in a worldly, sophisticated way.
If you haven’t seen it, here it is:
Today I found an amusing parody:
Both of these are trumped, however — and not by a little — by this horrifying, cult-like ad:
Ten days to go.

“Your first time shouldn’t be with just anybody,” the tattooed Ms. Dunham explains. “You want to do it with a great guy.”
Ms. Dunham goes on to say, “Think about how you want to spend your next four years.”
Seems implicit – nine months, some more months cleaning shitty diapers, about a year without seeing the guy who screwed her then another year screwing around with a lawyer trying to find the son-of-a-bitch to serve him papers.
Adding insult to injury – he won’t pay his child support. Never will.
Here’s another.
Putin? I don’t think so.

Sorry, Pete — I can (and often do) watch Rachel Maddow and Chris Matthews, and even Keith Olbermann, without any physical symptoms (I always enjoy a good laugh), but I am under strict medical orders not to watch any Lawrence O’Donnell. I settle instead for following him on Twitter, as I do with the others, and reading some of the bilge that he writes. (I seem to be able to tolerate O’Donnell-show transcripts, too. Video clips of the man, though, just put too much of a strain on my cardiovascular system, and put my furniture and other breakable household items at risk. On rare occasions I have temporarily gained 1200 pounds and turned green all over.)
Readers can explore the Putin connection here.
Oh, now I get it. (Amazing how quickly one can find what Lawrence O’Donnell said, without actually having to watch the man. I’m as grateful for that as the people who study the Ebola virus must be for those biohazard boxes.)
You must be thinking about this.
As the inimitable Iowahawk tweeted: The Obama campaign’s video, featuring Girls star Lena Dunham, is the worst thing coming out of a Dunham since … Barack Obama himself.
Correction: He tweeted “stupidest” NOT “worst”:
