In my previous post I mentioned that as this blog turned more toward the political, I had noticed that there were some interesting commenters that didn’t come around any more. Longtime readers will certainly recall one, in particular, who posted here frequently: an exceptionally intelligent, thoughtful, and articulate man by the name of Bob Koepp. He often disagreed with me, but it was always on solid intellectual principles, and he always kept me honest. He loved a good scrap as much as I do, and I greatly enjoyed having him around.
About a year ago he rather suddenly stopped commenting, and I had often wondered why.
Peace be upon you, my friend, and flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.

Bob was also a frequent commentor at Keith Burgess-Jackson’s blog and the Maverick Philosopher.
We have indeed suffered a loss.
This comes as a shock. My condolences to Bob and his family. I, too, had been wondering where he’d gone.
I think I was drunk when I wrote the above. I meant, of course, to express condolences to Bob’s family, not to “Bob and his family.”
I’d believe that, except as I recall you don’t drink.
Well, I’ll hoist a rare pint for Bob’s sake.
