Today’s good news: it looks like Dianne Feinstein’s ban on so-called “assault weapons” is dying on the vine.

That part was almost a foregone conclusion. But now it won’t be dragging down the remainder of the gun restrictions. It is very possible background checks and registration may increase and that is just a step to ultimate confiscation. I’ve got a link to an article on what CA is trying to do in that area.

The assault ban was a stalking horse from the get go for all but Dear Diane. It’s like the budget item you never really needed but could give up to look good. The rest of the mess looks so much more benign by comparison.

I’m more worried now than before.
