While all eyes are on Ukraine, it would be easy to lose sight of an earlier U.S. foreign-policy triumph: Libya. Has it really been a year and a half since we stopped having to worry about how to spell ‘Khadaffy’? How time flies.
Anyway, in case you were wondering, it’s going straight to hell — which won’t surprise anyone, except perhaps the people who made it all possible.
For some reason, we haven’t heard much about Libya from Foggy Bottom, lately. I guess our work there is done.

Madame Secretary already gave the benediction on Libya:
“We came, we saw, he died!”
and if that wasn’t sufficient:
“What difference, at this point, does it make?”
Being, at heart, a housewifey sort of person, I could give these women, wantonly remodeling the world order for Barack, a bit of advice. Power vacuums, while sweeping up the tiresome old autocrats quickly, leave a lot of empty space for many new, inexperienced interior decorators, with radical ideas, to rush in. Sure, it’s fast and easy for these ladies to toss them into the dustbin of history, but it’s better to start small and finish one project before tossing out the full house of furniture. Smart remodelers hire experienced designers, who always begin by assessing what you’ve got and they develop a plan for the entire house and each room (big picture/little picture). Clean as you go, my mother always said, that way, you don’t end up with a big mess… Until you learn strategic-thinking basics, it’s best to leave the big projects to professionals, not a lot of pushy women, with no world remodeling experience and ghastly taste.
Dear LB,
Pushy women and girlie men.
Apropos “pushy women”:
I am woman, hear me roar……in numbers too big to ignore, la, la, la
I could get used to that gender-neutral term, although mostly these women talk out of theirs. I apologize, Malcolm, for lowering the level of discourse here, but it’s Henry’s fault, he started it (no, I don’t want to take charge or responsibility and anyways, isn’t that the feminist way to blame a man, lol).
I’ll take one for the team.
:)
