    As it happens Salem Arkansas beat the low temperature record at 0530 this morning .. 16 JULY 2014.

    I noticed last evening’s “local” TV meteorologists mentioning some other nearby “records are likely to fall.”

    The nearest official NWS recording place is 72.4 nautical west of me in Harrison but I haven’t checked the four-county spread comprising Fulton’s Salem west to Boone’s Harrison – but I see Branson’s [MO] 50° as very likely.

    Mister Gore? The first week of July we here in Arkansas witnessed two tieings of low temp records [2013-14, 1918] then a record set this morning at 49° [previous 51° 1894] … mind if I join Mr Bastardi in asking?
