Lies, Damned Lies, And Sound Effects

For some reason I find this story oddly dispiriting.

    Hmmph.

Last year … or so … I got caught up in a Sobriety Check-point .. blew clear which wasn’t, expected (I think)

Fifty (or so) feet after I’d cleared my engine went

Chug-a-lug. $500 or so later I realized “Hmmm.”

    Ran a back-check and “Lo & Behold”

    My phone “Recorded a Spike.”

    “Dispiriting” you say?

    Time to go pre-1993.

  2. So I suppose one relevant question is whether the customers who buy these high-end cars are actually foolish enough to be unaware of what they’re buying. Rich people usually get rich by having a certain level of financial street smarts; before buying a car, they’ll have done their research and will have discovered the artificial sexiness. If they buy the car anyway…

I prefer a mid price Silverado. Seems harmless so far.

Does everything have to be fake?

Cosmetic sound effects for normal cars are certainly silly, but I’m darned glad they’re putting fake noise in those silent electric bastards. I was nearly run over by one in a crosswalk at a poor-visibility intersection once. Granted, drivers ignore crosswalks all the time, but usually I can hear them coming and stay out of the way.
