Oh, And By The Way

Do you like your little town just the way it is? Does it seem appropriate to you that, as free Americans, our communities ought to enjoy local control of zoning, schools, and other civic concerns?

Well, enjoy it while it lasts, you racist, because the Transformer-In-Chief has other plans.

Things are moving awfully fast these days, no?

With race and ethnicity taking the place of social class and income? This makes the Obama scheme nothing more than Nazism progressive style. It is getting harder to tell if these “liberal central planners” are neo Nazis or neo Communists. All of them though have a “D” next to their names.

  2. The very people they will try to move about like sacks of potatoes might not want to move into suburban neighborhoods or small town America. Resistance may come from not only the communities being impacted, but from the minority pawns being shuffled about.

“the minority pawns being shuffled about”. That was how forced busing was described a few decades ago. There will be reaction to this “law”.

LB, you recall back when you were “hot on the trail” of that occurrence in MS, me sending you that piece on what’d resulted from just this sort of “shuffle” that’d happened for a period of years in the state to the north (more specifically a metropolitan area)?

(No need post it – our host and I are very familiar with a recent decision.)

Hope, not to mention Change, springs eternal with this bunch.

  5. I remember JK, but despite the “difficulties”, once they propel this into motion, like all their other forays into executive branch/federal overreach, the States remain almost powerless to stop it. This Supreme court seems decidedly uninterested in the US Constitution in general and the X Amendment specifically.

You’re absolutely correct LB, The Behemoth can not in any sense be reckoned “nimble” .. you might recall also from that piece, though individuals on the ground and intimately familiar with the deleterious effect of the program were unable to implement/affect any change in direction The Behemoth had placed into motion.

And that program remains in action in the four municipalities in which it was “tested.”

Heck, how nimble is Iraq policy – never mind the regional?

(I’m not so familiar with the X Amendment as some others .. is that the Amendment Justice Kennedy found within the word “dignity”?)

A dude gets arrested for trying to play a Jimi Hendrix style version of the Star Spangled Banner on the $#%@ing 4th of July. The temerity of this asshole. No one really shouldn’t #@#$@#$ing be bragging about living in a free country.

Hey, it isn’t my favorite song in the world. I really think it is a crappy song. It is very hard to do well. Personally, I think it should be changed to the Stars and Stripes forever by Sousa. But it is my anthem, and I am stuck with it. And if a bunch of drunken yutes want to jam to it, then they oughta be able to.

The arresteds Troy would probably got cheered if they’d only thought to have Roseanne Barr do the vocals. Probably got a Presidential Medal of Freedom to boot.

This shit is getting plumb ridiculous.

In addition to the companion link within our host’s intro above, there is this treatment of the same subject-http://www.newgeography.com/content/004983-countering-progressives-assault-suburbia

When I stopped traveling to difficult places around the world in the late 1980s, I began investing in real estate. Mainly residential. Over the years as my business grew, I had the chance to learn about government involvement in housing and financing. Over the years, I watched government backed housing programs devalue many communities that were previously modest but thriving. They thrive no more. In small towns and larger cities, the outcome was the same. The spoken goal was good housing but the purpose was to shrink the population of poor inner city neighborhoods and fund people to move to nearby suburbs. By some magical method these new comers were to just immediately transform from what they were before The Great Move into newly risen suburbanites simply by living among them. Oops!

When this new Obama scheme for social engineering starts to make the local news, I will await the responses from the Lefty “amen corner” here abouts and see who they are and find out where they live. If their communities are of only like minded souls that want “some changes” in other people’s neighborhoods….just not their own, then I just might “unretire” myself and arrange for some transplanted diversity in theirs. I still have the contacts and I do have the means to do it. Could be interesting.
