“Evidence is fact that discriminates between one theory and another. Facts do not “speak for themselves.’ They speak for or against competing theories. Facts divorced from theory or visions are mere isolated curiosities.”

If only more black Americans were allowed to read Sowell…Meantime against all this struggle between the visions, we have the rising existential threat of Islam. It is hard to be united to fight a needed war when a larger war looms. Leftism in all its ideologies of death and decay is far more deadly in the long run than Islam. At least as I see it.

Clearly, we have the same vision, Robert.

  3. I have always felt that the expression, “The facts speak for themselves” was the last refuge of someone who is speaking out of his ass.

  4. BTW, Malcolm, I believe the accepted meme (which comes to us from Yiddish) is “schm” not “shm”. Thus, “Schmipsa” not “Shmipsa”.

  6. True story:

Two of my cousins, Bobby and his younger brother Henry (AKA “Little Henry”) were having an argument via email (to which I was cc’d). Their Mom is the one who gave me the nickname “TheBigHenry” because I am the oldest of the three of us.

As the argument became a bit heated, Little Henry referred to his brother Bobby as a “shmuck”. To which Bobby responded, “That’s not how you spell “schmuck”, schmuck.
