I didn’t see this coming: Walter Becker is dead at 67. If you’re a musician of my generation, or a fan, that’s a heavy blow.

    I saw. What is it I wonder, that limits so many in that profession to a life span of about 69 years?

    Steely Dan was less musical group, more force of nature.
    Becker helped create some of the best music of the 70’s, much of which still stands out today as head and shoulders above anything produced in the last 30 years.
    A truly gifted musician.

    Saw SD in NYC last fall. The music sounded as fresh as if it were still 1979. What a sad loss.
