About Time

I was gratified to see President Trump announce today that the United States will recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, and will move its embassy there.

Mr. Trump summed it up succinctly: Israel is a sovereign state, and a U.S. ally. If a state cannot even choose its own capital city, then it is not sovereign. If an ally will not recognize that choice, then it is not an ally.

Credit where it is due; trump showed real steel here. The Arab world will raise hell about this in the short term, but perhaps in the long term this will be conducive to peace.

  2. Israel is not an ally. If she were an “ally”, would she have attacked the U.S.S. Liberty? Would she spy on us, as in the Jonathan Pollard case?

Everybody spies on everybody. Is the U.K. our ally? We spied on them.

Israel is as close to an “ally” as you will find in this dark world.
