Are we loving modernity yet?

I was back at my old alma mater, Power Station Studios, earlier today. It’s on West 53rd Street in Manhattan. Nearby, some expensive apartment buildings have gone up. If you’re lucky enough to afford one of these tony residences, here’s your front door:

 
Is it me, or did we miss a turn somewhere?

    Wow, they went back to the old name of Power Station. I can’t help but think of the frequent ad client gaffe referring to it as Power House!

    And in other studio news, I recently stumbled upon another old favorite of yours, Skyline Studios. It is now called Reservoir Studios. I didn’t think they were still around!

    Yes, it’s Power Station again. And you remind me that I should drop by Reservoir and visit with Pat Dillett, who used to assist me on sessions there back in the old days. He now owns the place.
