From last night’s Grammy Awards: here is the state of American “culture”.
A while ago I wrote that it is a sign of an ascending civilization that what is lower aspires to what is higher, while the reverse is true of a civilization in decline. In the golden age of Hollywood, eros was Fred Astaire dancing with Rita Hayworth, while authors, composers, and philosophers graced the covers of popular magazines. Our colleges and universities taught the great canon of Western literature and classical thought in order to cherish, preserve, and advance a magnificent cultural heritage thousands of years old.
And… here we are now. Draw your own conclusions.

Well, I can’t ‘unsee’ that. These kinds of people own the culture that controls our politics and all of us as well. My but we must be weak.

Well there’s at least the one thing I guess I should be happy for – Thanks Malcolm for watching that horseshit so I didn’t have to.
One other thing suddenly occurs to me.
From here on out I’ll be considering “reparations” to be paid in full.

Peculiar juxtaposition: On the morning of the Grammy Awards freak show, Space X launched another rocket successfully deploying numerous satellites at one time. Our society can produce these two events on the same day?
As I’m wont to do Malcolm, let me inject a scintilla of hope into this admittedly distressing spectacle. Few people are really buying into the decadence in my opinion, as can be seen by the fairly scant applause at the end of the “performance.” To be sure, more African-Americans – to simply focus on the ethnicity most disproportionately affected – do subscribe to this sort of sewage than one would like. Yet even they have in many ways been programmed into this sordid Matrix over the years. Blacks, perhaps especially young black women, are desperate for bourgeois normalcy – you can see this heartbreakingly on Facebook when reading between the lines of female African-America friends there – and would very happily embrace a more cultured life if they saw it as being available. If elites within that community stepped up more the degeneration displayed by the likes of Cardi B would over time be reversed.
