OpenVAERS

Following on yesterday’s post; here is OpenVAERS, which is a more easily accessible front-end for the VAERS data.

With the usual caveat that I am definitely no scientist, these graphs do strike me as wildly disproportionate regarding COVID in relation to other conditions. If the vaccine was indeed causing such a dramatic uptake in heart attacks, strokes, and so on we’d be seeing it, would we not? The proof would be in the pudding, or actually quite literally in the morgue where the bodies would be piling up. Yet from what I’ve read this does not seem to be happening, indeed rather the contrary – such inflation as appears to be occurring is largely due to the unvaccinated burdening ICUs and ERs.

This doesn’t mean that there are not necessarily side effects to Moderna et. al, and that there’s an inevitable element of picking your poison in deciding to get vaccinated. Yet surely a significant portion of these VAERS events, which are after all reported not only from medical professionals but also patients, are results of confirmation bias in lieu of a phenomenon that is, to say the least, highly polemical and makes not a few individuals go off the deep end.

I hope you have a good Christmas and New Year on the Cape Malcolm; all the best to Whitewall, JK, and others as well.

I’ve had two shots. The first in March and the followup shot a few weeks later in April. I had no adverse effects. Both shots were the Moderna. And I’m not in the best of health, actually the opposite. And I’m 80.

I also wish all have a nice Christmas and a New Year filled with many pleasant memories.

Thank you Jason and Uppers, same to you both and to you, Malcolm, as well. Here in our retirement community, we were given the Moderna jab twice. As an at risk population by definition, most took it as did I. Only mild symptoms after the second dose for me and many others….especially the men for some reason. I don’t intend to be stuck anymore though.

    Jason,

The real point about the VAERS chart, I think, it what it shows for this vaccine as compared to all the others. 20,000 vaccine-related deaths is a hell of a lot by the usual safety standards of vaccines, but how confident are you that you would have personal anecdotal confirmation of that high rate of deaths? (I do in fact have a friend who died suddenly not long after being vaccinated, so that’s a possible one for me.)

Here’s my feeling about where we stand: I think it’s likely that as we go forward from here, and this Omicron variant spreads widely and confers immunity – as the latest studies seem to indicate – it will gradually become clear to all that we can crawl out from under the table (to the extent that our government is willing to yield its new powers, and our media willing to give up such a great hobgoblin for keeping us alarmed).

I have a 60-year-old friend who is getting over a case of COVID that he wouldn’t even have known he had if he hadn’t tested positive, and it’s starting to seem really silly to me that we are still living in such fear.

Meanwhile, the inventor of the mRNA vaccine has offered a grave warning about the wisdom of giving these vaccines to children, and I worry that we might have done a terrible thing by subjecting so many young people to this experimental program – the consequences of which may not be apparent for years or decades to come.

I had two shots of Moderna’s vaccine back in the sring of 2020. I do not think I’ll be getting that booster.

    Seen somewhere on the net:

If I’d had three smallpox vaccinations but still caught smallpox I’d be asking some questions.
