Trojan Horse

Making the rounds today: the newly elected president of Argentina, Javier Milei, just spoke at the World Economic Forum’s conference in Davos — and having taken the stage, used the platform to denounce everything that the malevolent WEF seeks to accomplish, and to warn the world of the danger these people present to human flourishing. Magnificent.

The whole thing was so clearly scripted that it would be comical if the people fronting Milei weren’t actually monsters intent on imposing digital totalitarianism on the whole globe.

Now I know beyond any shadow of a doubt Milei cannot be trusted.

Same with another tough talking puppet, Meloni, in Italy.

I suppose the next phase of the globohomo narrative machine is to belch up a bevy of “nationalist” actors who talk a tough game while green lighting millions of undocumented migrants, mostly men, to overwhelm western nations.

    It’s all so tiresome.

AD, I can understand your cynicism here. It’s astonishing that Milei was allowed to speak. And most certainly Meloni has been a big disappointment.

Now and then, though, a genuine maverick comes along; it is not always impossible for a weary and disgruntled people to elect someone who actually expresses their will, at least for a while, no matter what his real motivation is (and in that regard, it’s always naive to imagine that politicians are ever motivated by anything but narcissism and megalomania; the historical counterexamples are so rare that you could count them on one hand).

I’m willing to wait and see what Milei actually does. I have no doubt that he will see to it that his own interests and comforts are satisfied, but in these times the shortest path to that might be actually to do the “Right” thing, and mean it.

I will add, also, that if we in the West don’t want to be invaded by millions of undocumented migrants, that’s up to us, and nobody else. Here in the U.S. we could completely shut it down in a week. All we lack is the will.

(My personal preference would be a three-mile-wide fenced-off buffer zone, infested with dugites and densely planted with manchineels, patrolled by loitering drones crowd-sourced to a competitive online video game.)

The speaker is Kevin Roberts, president of (fronting for) the Heritage Foundation.

The trojan horse if I follow your implication, is Argentinian rather than Greek, and the wef elites, ‘rebuilding trust’, are the Trojans. And then here we have Kevin popping out right at ground zero.
Rebuilding trust, is that a thing?

Thanks for that link, mharko, and good for Kevin Roberts. He packed a lot of cask-strength GFY into those few minutes.

It was really something to see the audience laughing when he called election integrity into question.

People like these are why we have tumbrels and lamp-posts.
