Stux Redux

A little while back we posted an item about the purpose of the sophisticated “Stuxnet” computer virus, which appears to have been aimed at Iran’s nuclear program. Everybody agrees it was one hell of a piece of work.

Now, here’s an update on how it did what it did.

This is some serious programming, folks. An expert cited in the article linked above described it as “like the arrival of an F-35 into a World War I battlefield”.

(I guess they’re still working on the Sukhoi T-50 version.)

    I’d add, the F-35 metaphor wouldn’t have been much against WWI’s aircraft (being canvas covered, not to mention the JSF’s stall speed) “maybe” a Warthog – but the guy shoulda cited an Apache.

    (Then again, I suppose I could be fairly accused of being prejudiced).
