An update from the Eternal City: we’ve been traipsing around every day, but all seems fairly quiet here in the historic center; just the usual mobs of tourists. I will say that we haven’t been down to the area around the Colosseum, which was the epicenter of last week’s turmoil, but things in the north-central part of the old city are normal — or at least “normal” for a European city in the midst of an accelerating demographic replacement.
We’re heading back to the States on Tuesday, Election Day. Vote like it matters, because it actually still kind of does. (Think of Hodor.)
